About Dutch Dragon.

The Dutch Dragon wood chipper produces wood chips of constant quality from tree trunks, branches or bundles. All Dutch Dragon wood chippers are made with air support using a ventilator that prevents the outlet pipe from becoming blocked.

The Dutch Dragon wood chipper is operated via a touch screen. The Dutch Dragon ECS-PC computer system, developed in-house, is very simple to operate. The software includes a parts book and is language-free, since both machine and spare parts are operated by means of pictograms and drawings.

The following aspects characterise the Dutch Dragon wood chipper:

  • Chips of consistent size
  • Low weight
  • Robust construction
  • No hammers
  • Low fuel consumption thanks to the John Deere engines
  • Low maintenance costs
  • Little wear and tear
  • Blades can be changed very quickly
  • Deltames® (Delta knife) that can be used as an extra counter-knife to prevent twigs and branches being drawn in thereby ensuring constant chip quality
  • Simplicity of operation thanks to touch screen

Why a drum wood chipper?

  • A drum-type wood chipper can be used for trunks and branches: it is flexible.
  • The dimensions are not extreme in comparison to a disk wood chipper with similar tree trunk dimensions.
  • This makes it flexible for mobile use.

Why a closed drum?

  • An open drum chops the material more than is desirable.
  • An open drum is not able to eject the chipped material, which means extra mechanical parts such as a paddle wheel.

What does the E of `Dutch Dragon E-Chipper” stand for?

  • E for European design, produced according to European rules and requirements
  • E for Efficiency, low maintenance costs, minimum fuel consumption and high yield
  • E for Environment, safe for nature and environment
  • E for Ergonomic design, highest requirements, service and user-friendly
  • E for Economic, produces a good and constant quality of wood chip commanding the highest price
  • E for Extra, extra warranty period (3 years), modular construction, coaching and training for maximum production and minimum stoppages.

A wood chipper can be constructed according to the customer’s wishes. In accord with Wellink Machinetechniek tradition we are very flexible in this sort of thing. Construction follows our own system of rapid exchange. This can apply to both new and used machines such as trailer, truck, forwarders, loading arm/cable, container system or on caterpillar tracks.
The wood chippers can also be optionally produced with a chipbox up to a maximum of 22 m³ and up to a tipping height of 4.35 m. This depends on the underpart or basic vehicle on which the wood chipper with chipbox is mounted.
